Google Launches URL Shortening - Goo.gl


Just to make sure it has it's fingers on everything Google has launched Goo.gl. It's own URL shortening service. More information can be found on the Google Blog Making URLs shorter for Google Toolbar and FeedBurner

Initially the service seems to be just for Google services and is not yet publicly accessible.

But could this be in preperation for a Twitter take-over? (pure speculation on my part!)
