Just enabled Facebook Connect on all my blogs

Some of you may be aware that I use Posterous for all my blogs. It is an awesome system and I really recommend you give it a try.

Recently they enabled Facebook Connect for blog comments. Being a bit of a geek I thought sonds like something I should set-up. The instructions were easy to follow and users on all my blogs now have the ability to comment using their Facebook ID.

If you are asking yourself "why?" then think of it as another way to promote your blog. The user finds it easy to make a comment and they promote their Facebook profile on your site. You also get the benefit of the users profile then linking back to your blog and driving potential traffic to you.

Put Pocketing and Social Media

TalkTalk have launched a new media campaign. The campaign involves ex-pick pocketers going around London and putting money back into peoples pockets and bags.

I have referred to this as a campaign as that is effectively what it is. At first I wondered how putting £20.00 into a strangers pocket is going to gain any exposure, especially if they do not know.

But already social media sites like Twitter are buzzing with tweets and re-tweets about the stunt. I imagine it will not be long before we have FaceBook status updates "I just found £20.00 in my back pocket must have been TalkTalk"

This was probably the intended reaction TalkTalk have hoped for effectively paying individuals £20.00 to Talk about them.

What do you think about the stunt?
